Privacy Policy
1. Overview
Baseball at Cards ("the App", "the Game") is a single-player baseball card game developed and published by Arnau Tresserras as an individual developer ("I", "me", "my"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
In plain terms: The App has no user accounts and never asks for your name, email address, or any other information that directly identifies you. It collects only anonymous gameplay analytics and the information needed to process an in-app purchase. I do not sell your data.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.
2. Information the App collects
2.1 Information I do NOT collect
- I do not require or offer an account, login, or registration.
- I do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or postal address.
- I do not collect your precise or approximate location.
- I do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
- I do not collect payment card or banking details (see §2.3).
2.2 Analytics data (via Mixpanel)
To understand how the Game is played and to improve it, the App uses Mixpanel, a third-party analytics service. Mixpanel collects:
- An anonymous device identifier randomly generated by Mixpanel. This is not linked to your real-world identity.
- Gameplay events — for example: starting and ending a run, boss fights begun and won, cards played, swings, hits, outs, and game outcomes.
- Technical and contextual properties attached to those events, such as the device operating system and model, the App version, and event timestamps.
Analytics data is processed on Mixpanel's European Union servers (api-eu.mixpanel.com).
2.3 In-app purchase data (via RevenueCat and Apple)
Baseball at Cards is free to download. The full game can be unlocked through a single one-time in-app purchase. Purchases are processed through Apple's App Store and managed using RevenueCat, a third-party purchase-management service.
- Apple processes the payment itself. I never receive or store your payment card number or billing details.
- RevenueCat receives and stores information needed to validate and restore your purchase, including an anonymous app-user identifier, purchase and transaction receipts, the products you have bought, and basic device information (such as device type, operating system, and country/region as reported by the store). This is not linked to your name or email.
This information is used solely to grant you the content you paid for, to let you restore a previous purchase, and to prevent fraud.
2.4 Crash and diagnostic data (via Sentry)
To keep the Game stable and to fix problems, the App uses Sentry, a third-party crash-reporting and diagnostics service. When the App crashes or hits an error, Sentry collects:
- Crash and error reports — technical diagnostics such as the error type and stack trace, and structured diagnostic logs about what the App was doing at the time.
- Stability (release-health) data — anonymous app-session start/stop signals used to measure the crash-free rate of each release.
- Technical and contextual properties — such as the device model and operating system, the App version, and the release/update channel.
Sentry uses a randomly generated identifier to group reports; the App does not attach your name, email, or any real-world identity to this data. It is used only to diagnose crashes and improve stability, never for advertising.
2.5 Information stored only on your device
The App stores a small flag on your device (using local storage) to remember whether the full game has been unlocked, so it does not have to re-check on every launch. This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to me.
2.6 This website (promotional, support, and legal pages)
The pages you are reading now — the promotional home page, this Privacy Policy, the Support page, and the Credits page — are part of the App's website and are separate from the App itself. To understand how many people visit these pages and where they arrive from (for example, from the App Store listing), the website uses Umami, a privacy-first, cookieless analytics service.
- Umami does not use cookies and does not store any identifier on your device.
- It collects only aggregate, anonymous information such as page views, the referring site or source (for example, the Apple App Store), approximate country, and general device/browser type. This cannot be used to identify you, and no personal profile is built.
- It records, as an anonymous aggregate count, when visitors tap the "Download on the App Store" button, so I can see how many people head to the store from the site.
Because this analytics is anonymous and cookieless, no cookie-consent banner is required. You can still block it using your browser's tracking-protection or content-blocking settings. See Umami's privacy information at umami.is/privacy.
3. How the information is used
I use the information described above to:
- Operate the Game and remember your purchase/unlock status.
- Process and restore in-app purchases.
- Understand how the Game is played in aggregate and improve gameplay, balance, and stability.
- Diagnose technical problems.
I do not use this information to build advertising profiles, and the App does not display third-party advertising.
4. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK users)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, I process your information under the following legal bases of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — for anonymous analytics used to understand and improve the Game, and for crash reporting and diagnostics used to keep it stable.
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) — for processing and restoring in-app purchases you have requested.
5. Third-party service providers
The App relies on the following third parties, each of which processes data under its own privacy policy:
| Provider | Purpose | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Apple (App Store) | App distribution and payment processing | apple.com/legal/privacy |
| Mixpanel | Anonymous gameplay analytics | mixpanel.com/legal/privacy-policy |
| RevenueCat | In-app purchase management and receipt validation | revenuecat.com/privacy |
| Sentry | Anonymous crash reporting and stability diagnostics | sentry.io/privacy |
| Umami | Cookieless, anonymous analytics for this website (not the App) | umami.is/privacy |
I do not control how these providers process data once it is collected by their services. Please review their policies for details.
6. Data sharing and selling
I do not sell your personal information, and I do not share it with third parties except the service providers listed in §5, who process it on my behalf to provide the App's functionality. I may disclose information if required to do so by law or a valid legal request.
7. Data retention
- Analytics data is retained by Mixpanel for as long as it is useful for understanding and improving the Game, subject to Mixpanel's own retention practices.
- Purchase records are retained by RevenueCat and Apple for as long as needed to manage your entitlement, support restores, meet tax and accounting obligations, and prevent fraud.
- Crash and diagnostic data is retained by Sentry for a limited period, subject to Sentry's own retention practices, and is used only to investigate and fix stability problems.
- On-device data persists until you delete the App or clear its data.
8. International data transfers
The service providers used by the App may process and store data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States. Where data is transferred internationally, those providers rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses). Analytics data is processed on Mixpanel's EU-based servers.
9. Children's privacy
Baseball at Cards is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App collects only anonymous analytics and purchase data and does not request personal details from anyone. If you believe a child has provided information through the App in a way that concerns you, please contact me and I will address it.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict its processing, and the right to object to processing or request portability (under the GDPR), or the right to know, delete, and opt out of "sale" of your information (under the California Consumer Privacy Act). I do not sell personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, email arnautresserras@gmail.com.
11. Security
I rely on reputable service providers (Apple, Mixpanel, RevenueCat, Sentry) that maintain industry-standard security practices to protect the limited data the App processes. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to this policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When I do, I will revise the "Last updated" date above and post the new version at the App's website. Significant changes will be highlighted where practical. Your continued use of the App after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
